Who is Abel López?
Is new Mexican designer, who started his career 18 years ago in the fashion industry, and who has his firm established since 2012.
Abel López is also known as contemporary Mexican fashion designer who has attended events such as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week México, Austin Fashion Week, among others. His projects have not only focused on designs, but also as a stylist and creative director, he has transferred the classic silhouette to contemporary settings, characterizing the firm by accentuating organic explosive belts that consider sobriety an architectural.
His master pieces are elegant, and sophisticated aesthetic with particular shapes in the lines. His pieces have been published by different magazines: Vogue México and Latino America, Harpers, Elle, Marie Clair, L´ Officiel, Grazia in different countries such as: France, Japan, Italy, Singapore, United States, and recently Argentina.
What is his inspiration?
Art Deco has also been part of their collective imagination when he designs. In his most recent collection has unveiled the world of the Japanese theater called Kabuki, in which each design is inspired not only in makeup and clothing but also in the emotions and drama experienced during this Japanese art shows; textures are accented through silks and natural fibers that enhance the participation of kimonos.
What is next for Abel López?
We are in a very important and critical time in the fashion industry, we are looking new digital alternatives to show the upcoming collection spring summer 2021, adapting to the digital world is very challenging I will love to share with you what we have been working this last few months. We also looking stronger connections with more people from other countries and I couldn’t be as happy as I am now, having this interview for Fashion Art Magazine.
